The "Circe" book cover redesign was born out of a passion project, merging my love for photo collage and reading. By recreating the cover of "Circe" by Madeline Miller, I sought to explore and blend these interests in a creative endeavor. On the left, you'll see my reinterpretation, while on the right is the original book cover, offering a direct comparison between the new and the traditional designs.
My design for the "Circe" book cover draws on the rich elements and aesthetics described in the book, which is an adaptation of the Greek myth of the witch Circe. The woman featured in my design represents Circe herself, embodying her deep connection to nature and the ocean—a poignant reflection of her eternal confinement on an island. To capture the essence of her isolation and strength, I chose imagery that melds the ocean and the island seamlessly with her figure, illustrating her profound harmony and resilience in the face of nature's solitude.
